Fragmented Landscapes

Dan Baldwin

45 Park Lane, London W1K 1PN

1 May — 26 July 2026

Ackerman Studios presents Fragmented Landscapes, a solo exhibition of new and recent works by Dan Baldwin at 45 Park Lane.
The exhibition is Baldwin's most significant London show since 2018.

Baldwin's practice is rooted in landscape, but the terrain he paints is never quite the one he walks through. The South Downs provide a starting point: wildflowers, hedgerows, birds lifting from fence posts. Yet these elements arrive on the canvas already altered, filtered through memory, nostalgia and imagination.

There is no predetermined image. Baldwin works improvisationally, building surfaces through successive layers of pigment, aerosol and gold leaf. Passages are laid down and partially buried, creating a visual archaeology in which earlier gestures persist beneath the surface. The exhibition includes ceramics alongside paintings and works on paper, each medium inflected by the same restless energy.
